WE WISH TO BECOME A MISSIONARY COMMUNITY THROUGH A PROCESS OF RENEWAL

If we focus on making disciples and equipping apostles first, the rest will follow. We will not have to worry about our institutional gaps. The disciples and apostles we form today will found and sustain our institutions and structures tomorrow, and the Holy Spirit will gift and inspire them to do things that we have never dreamed of. What we are called to do [today] is to truly see and then make disciples of the anointed ones who are wandering in and out of our parishes right now” Sherry Weddell – Forming Intentional Disciples – the Path to knowing and following Jesus

THE OPTICS OF CONVERSION

Understanding and utilizing the evangelization thresholds

Bridge of Trust

A positive association with Jesus, a Christian Church, a Christian person or an object, such as a rosary, which is identifiably Christian.

Curiosity

A person reaches a stage where they are curious or intrigued about the person of Jesus or some other aspect of the Christian faith which may move them to further investigate to satisfy their curiosity. It is a passive stage, but it is more than mere trust.

Openness

A person acknowledges to themselves, to God and perhaps to others that they are open to the possibility of spiritual development or change.

Seeking

A person moves into an active engagement to know God and to respond to God’s call. The person seeks to know whether they can commit to Jesus and His Church

Discipleship

At this stage the person decides to make a decision to surrender to God by dropping his or her nets and to follow Jesus in the midst of His Church in obedience and to re-order his or her life accordingly.
